Computer-based socializing likely to have peaked

It looks like social networking on desktops and laptops peaked in 2011 at 30% of Americans' time online – another sign of how mobile socializing's getting. Computer-based socializing decreased 3% last year for the first time, CNET reports, citing Experian market research. Holidays: Half of US parents giving kids tech

A national survey found that 49% of parents with kids 12 and under are giving their children electronic gifts – cellphones, computers, music players, gameplayers, etc. – this holiday season, PBSKids.org reports about its survey. Top tech gadgets for Americans 18+: Study

Americans definitely like their technology mobile. Cellphones are the US's most popular gadget, according to a just-released study by the Pew Internet & American Life Project, with 85% of Americans 18+ and 75% of US teens owning one.
